The Movement of The Society of Peace, a national
political movement founded since 1991, it worked in the
Algerian underground scene since the early 1970s, one of the
most prominent leaders is its founder Sheikh Mahfoudh Nahnah
and Sheikh Martyr Mohamed Bouslimani Allah's mercy upon them
Sheikh Mahfoudh Nahnah was its first chairman (1991-2003)
and since August 2003 headed by Sheikh Aboujuerra Soltani.
The movement adopts a moderation procedure and positive
engagement policy, and it is a member of the government
coalition since 1999, that has been developed into a
presidential alliance in 2004 and has been participating in
the Government since 1996.
The movement is present in the Algerian political scene in
various activities: social, charitable, student, youthful,
women and others, along with their participation in national
and local councils (national people's Assembly since 1997
elections) since 1990 uptil today.

promotion of fundamental freedoms, and in efforts of
national development and fulfilment of the martyrs' mission
in completing the construction of the Algerian State
socially and democratically in the framework of Islamic
principles, and to defend Palestine and just causes in the
